Tim's Testimony - Page 1
The scriptures say for us to come as a child, for us to come to Jesus with child-like faith.

I can’t remember ever not attending church services Sunday morning when growing up. Even when we went on vacation, it was so rare to miss a service. Upon arriving in a town Saturday evenings, and before checking into a motel, we would drive around until we found a Baptist church and when Sunday School started. So is it any wonder that as the tender age of six years old that I walked forward to make my public confession of faith ?

However, the story really starts years earlier. In fact, it starts ten months before I was born. Mom, having given birth to one son already, wanted another, but the doctor told her that it was impossible. He explained that her ovaries were deformed and that it was a miracle that she even gave birth to my older brother. Mom listened to this information and went home. Having been born in a strong Southern Baptist environment, and having experienced several miracles firsthand, she leaned on the Word of God. She knew the Bible story of Samuel and how Hannah, his mother, had gone to the temple to appeal before the Lord asking for a son. If she had a son, she would give him back to God. With faith, believing that what God did for Hannah, He could do for her, Mom went boldly to God. Like Hannah, she asked God for a son and she too, would give him back to God. I was born nine months later. I am a miracle child.

Coming forward to that ordained day, I was sitting in a pew one Sunday morning, listening to the pastor end his message with an invitation by telling the congregation that we must ask Jesus into our hearts or we won’t go to Heaven, but to Hell, to eternal damnation.
