Dan's Testimony - Page 1
My family’s religious background was Christian Science. After the divorce of my parents, when I was in first grade, we never went to church again. During my school age years, I never really thought much about God. As I got older if the subject came up, I would say I was Christian Science (because I liked the sound of science but had no idea what it was).

By the time I got to high school, I was pretty much an atheist. I would point out how science proved the Bible to be wrong and had a pretty good set of defenses against most Christians, even to the point I enjoyed messing with them. The Christians I ran into at this time were never able to defend their faith or give answers to my questions. As a result, I knew I was right and that the God of the Bible was just a way to manipulate people.

By my early 20’s, I was even more sure of my faith in science (however deep down I always thought there might be a God but knew it was not the God of the Bible, but just maybe a Creator. I would never admit it, but in reality, I was an agnostic). At 24 years old, I was living well, had what I wanted, and was totally content. I was generally a good guy so that was another issue to overcome since good guys don’t need God. Again science had my answers and that was that. As a result, I would pretty much take apart anyone who was a Christian. I enjoyed that part since they could not answer me. In an odd way, I knew more about their faith then they did, of course my knowledge was totally wrong but they didn’t know that.
