Mike's Ministry - Sacramento 2010
November 3 - Preach the Word in season and out and always be able to give an answer for the hope that lies within you...
Yesterday, I had to take my car in for the 6,000 mileage LOF service. I was waiting in the waiting room and there were about 6 other people waiting too. One of the women turned the channel on the television to a show called, "Let's make a Deal". The premise of the show is they will throw money at you and then offer you a choice to take what's behind the door versus the money... The Holy Spirit prompted me to talk to these people. I didn't want to as I was fearing man again. The Lord prompted me again, so I blurted out to everyone, I wonder what's behind the door. They became enthused. I then said, this reminds me of the world we live in. They agreed. Then I said, in the Bible, God tells us that he's given us a choice. Choose between life and death (Deuteronomy 30:19). I then asked the people, "Are you going to be good enough to get into heaven? So, will you take the offer God gives you, life in Jesus or choose what's behind the door, Hell?" I then handed out the "Million Dollar" bills that has the gospel message on the back of them... Truely interesting how God works..

October 20 - A friend, Ron and I have been street preaching in the downtown area of Sacramento along the K Street Mall several times now. Here's how we faired lately...
The Word commanded us to preach God's good news of Christ. Yesterday, we were yelled at, told to shut up, asked to get down and leave, and even assaulted! While Ron was preaching, an angry, drunk man, probably controlled by Satan, kept coming up to him and touching him or trying to push him. I stepped in between the two and asked the guy to leave us alone as we were expressing our beliefs in public, which is protected under the US Constitutuion. He then pushed me and came at me again. I ended up putting the guy in a twist lock, then quietly and calmly told him to leave. After releaseing him, he yelled some more explecitives at me, then he threatened that he was going to cut my throat out with his knife. He then reached into his back pocket and lunged at me. I freaked out, thinking he had a knife, so I hit the arm holding the knife (It was just a utensil) snapped his arm behind him, performed a twist lock on him, and then flipped him around and eventually slammed him to the ground. I let him get up but he tried to lunge at me again, so I did another control hold and slammed him on the wall, where I pat him down looking for weapons. He kept fighting so I took him to the ground again and just held him until the police showed up.

There was no question that I was defending myself as a security guard witnessed the whole incident but the police were upset about the bruising on the guy (He had a gash and some good bruising above his eye). One police officer was a little offended that I used force to defend myself, since I was out there preaching the gospel. I told the police officer, if he were in my shoes, the guy would be dead, as the police would've instinctively pulled out his gun and shot the guy after hearing a threat involving a knife and seeing him reach back and then lunge.

We decided to move down towards the outdoor mall where there was a huge convention going on. Many business people were there and again many insults, etc. One business man approached me and threw out a crude joke about Jesus. I prayerd out loud, "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do." We were also approached by Believers from Kenya who told us they were surprised by the lack of preaching going on in the United States.
Matthew 5:10 - "Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Go and preach the
gospel of Jesus Christ

Go to all nations of the world...
to all nations
of the world...
