on in my life, the drugs, drinking, meaningless relationships and the dead end I was racing towards. He explained that God
was waiting for me to give up on running my life my own way and to start a new life with God at the helm. It was then
outside of this girl's window at three in the morning in October of 1984 that I truly accepted Christ as my Savior.
Things did not change for me immediately. I still did not understand my role in this relationship. It was a couple of years
later that I came to God in prayer and asked for a new direction. I told God that I was tired and I was lonely and that I
knew He had someone for me to spend my life with. I said I was done dating and ready to settle down and asked that He
please send the one He had chosen.
Two weeks later in an accounting class at Sierra College, I saw the young woman that God had sent. I knew instantly that
God had arranged this in answer to my prayer. I asked for confirmation and it came when the student seated next to this
young woman dropped the class and I was allowed to add the class and be seated right next to my future spouse.
Shortly after our marriage eighteen months later, God directed us to find a local church. We attended Calvary Chapel in
Auburn, CA and we were baptized together while expecting our first child.
